Have you watched the Pokemon anime in the last few years? How about Sonic X? If so, then you are assuredly familiar with the vocal talent of Lisa Ortiz.
A talented voice actress, Ortiz has been active in the business since 1996. She got her start in theatrical acting but her breakout anime role was Deedlit in Record of Lodoss War. Since then, she has gone on to be Lina Inverse in Slayers, Serenity Wheeler from Yu-Gi-Oh!, Amy Rose in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise between 2005 and 2010, Chopper in the 4Kids dub of One Piece, and countless characters in the Pokemon anime, such as Flannery, Fletchling and Oshawott (reprised for Super Smash Bros.), and Korrina.
In addition to her work as an actress, Ortiz has also directed voice-over work quite extensively. As if all of the directorial work in the Pokemon series since the nineteenth season were not enough, she directed several video games developed by Gameloft and the voice acting in the recent animated film Norm of the North. My hat is off to her; I can’t imagine what it must be like to have to direct Rob Schneider.

If you want to know more about the curious way she broke out into voice acting with anime, watch her explain it in a hilarious recollection of grand theft auto and a mysterious man named George:
Hopefully, we will be able to meet Ms. Ortiz at Otakon this year. Stay tuned!
