Planning a fun day or weekend out with the whole family can sometimes be a challenge. If you go to an amusement park with small children you find yourself spending the day in the kiddie area. If you go to a festival, there may be drinking and rowdiness that you don’t want your little ones exposed to. So finding something to do that will entertain the kids without boring the parents out of their minds may require a little effort. Luckily there are lots of family friendly places in New Jersey that even teens and adults will enjoy. Let’s take a look at just five of them.

Activities in New Jersey

Kindle Unlimited: 3 months free trial and 50% off 6 months of Kindle Unlimited Prime Day Deals

Ziplining

Zoom Ziplines offers guided zip line tours that are safe and fun for all ages. Even your small tykes will love the adventure of zip lining while you can rest assured that they are safe and sound.

Jersey Shore Pirate Cruise

Set sail on a pirate ship and let your kids enjoy a very interactive adventure at Pirate Adventures Jersey Shore. Not only do they get costumed and have their faces painted to become part of the pirate crew your little ones (and big ones) get to hunt for treasure, battle other pirates, fire the water cannon and taste some grog. Ahoy Mateys, let’s go pirating, in New Jersey!

Jenkinson’s Boardwalk and Aquarium

No one will be bored when you take the family to Jenkinson’s. Located in Point Pleasant, this is a great place to take the whole family. You’ll find games, rides, amazing food and a beautiful sandy beach.  The aquarium is located on the boardwalk and introduces the whole family to sharks, seals, penguins and more. When it comes to the boardwalk experience in New Jersey, Jenkinsons is the most family friendly.

Charter Fishing

If your family loves nothing more than reeling in a big catch, then a charter fishing trip is the way to go. A family friendly excursion including air conditioning, showers, and other comforts of home on the boat will entertain everyone. The whole family can fish for Striper, Sea Bass, Cod, Pollack and more. Meals are provided and the crew will even clean, cut and bag your catch!

Diggerland

There’s nowhere else like Diggerland. The only construction-themed amusement park in the United States is right here in New Jersey!  Kids and parents alike will enjoy driving, riding and operating real construction equipment. There are more than 23 attractions at Diggerland including a rope course, excavator that kids can dig with, and a heavy machinery stunt show!

There’s plenty of family fun in New Jersey; you just have to know where to look!

I used to work right next to Diggerland! It was fairly new at the time and my kids were still too little. But definitely looked like a lot of fun!
