When I first learned about body butter, it changed my life! I have always loved lavender. For as long as I can remember, it had its typical calming effect on me and as someone who suffers from insomnia and anxiety, it’s handy to keep around. I get it in body sprays, lotions, shampoo and conditioner, air fresheners, and any other scent I can find it in. Other the years, however, I learned that some of that junk you buy in the store is not good for you. It may smell good, but it’s laden with chemicals and it isn’t good for you.
Then I started looking for natural alternatives. I wanted to get the lavender I loved, without all the chemicals I didn’t. That’s when I ran across this recipe that I want to share with you today. It’s for body butter and it is truly divine.
There’s a big difference between lotion and body butter. The latter is made mostly from oils and butters that can penetrate the skin’s surface better than lotions. The result is smoother, silkier skin but not all body butters are made the same.
Since I prefer using all natural products, I have found the best ones are the ones you make yourself because you know exactly what ingredients are used. Still, some mixtures end up feeling greasy instead of silky soft. That’s why I was so thrilled when I found this non-greasy body butter recipe with lavender scent on the Soap Deli News Blog. It’s fantastic! I love the smell of lavender and this recipe is so good that I just had to share it with all of you.
Go to Soap Deli News Blog for a complete list of ingredients and instructions for this body butter recipe so you can take advantage of this excellent product, too. If you try it out for yourself, I’d love to hear how it went. Be sure to come back and share it with me, or tell me on my Facebook page.
