Who doesn’t have a blog these days? It’s definitely a popular concept, especially with millennials. What we know now that many who came before us didn’t know is that you can also earn money from blogging. If you want your blog to be more than a hobby, then you need to have a solid plan for making money with it. The strategy you use for creating posts, marketing, and more will all impact the amount of money you can potentially make from it. Social media is a very valuable part of your blog marketing plan.

If you want to have success with your blog on social media, it will be very important to first create a plan. If you work at everything haphazardly, you might be able to get results but then you won’t even be sure what got you those results. With a social media plan and proper tracking, you can see where your growth is coming from and also see what isn’t working for you. So let’s take a look at how you can create a social media plan for your blog to help you earn more from it, or just to get more traffic.

social media plan

Here’s how to create a social media plan for your blog:

  1. Know your target audience – Who are you trying to reach? Clients? Customers? How old are they? What do they do for fun? You need to know your target audience to create your social media plan.
  2. Know your goals – It’s important to know what your short term and long term goals are for the blog. Without goals, you won’t know what you are working for. Make the goals specific and attainable.
  3. Conduct an audit – If you have existing social media accounts, do an audit on them to see how they measure up right now. A detailed audit will help you see where you and where you need to improve.
  4. Create a content plan – Part of your social media plan should include content. This will be the content you share on your blog, as well as the content you share on your social networks to promote the blog.

With these tips, you can get started on a social media plan for your blog. This isn’t an all-encompassing list of things you need to know so you don’t want to stop here. Read more. Research more. Learn all that you can about being successful. It will be worth it when the results begin to pay off.

Do you find that being really specific with your goals helped? I was going too broad and general before.
