The winter season is here, and although it really hasn’t been feeling like it here at our place (it’s unusually warm this season in New Jersey), we are still getting into the holiday and winter spirit. We have our tree up, our neighbors have lights and decorations going up, and we’ve been working on holiday crafts here at home. Speaking of winter crafts, here’s a fun one that children of all ages can do. It’s simply painting a snowman using Q-tips as your brush. The kids love it (just be sure no one puts Q-tips in their ears) and you can come up with some pretty, unique designs so every snowman is different in his own little way.
I’m the type of person who loves doing crafts with my kids when we can make some time, and I enjoy watching them do projects on their own, too. I believe that making crafts is a great way to bond with my kids while helping them improve their fine motor skills and their imaginations. However, doing the same things over and over can get a bit boring. This is why I love it when I run across new ideas that I’ve never heard of before like the Q-tip painted snowman craft idea.
This is so cute and easy to do. I already had everything I needed for the project at home and my kids loved making them. My six-year-old did it all by herself and my younger child only needed a little help.
Visit Mess For Less to see how it’s done and have a great time watching your kids paint a snowman using Q-Tips. If you’re looking for something simple and fun to keep them busy on a snow day, or a weekend when they’re home from school, go ahead and give this craft project a go.
